- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 yellow onion – chopped
- 1 green bell pepper – chopped
- 2 cloves garlic – minced
- ½ (8 ounce) can black beans – rinsed and drained
- 1 (15 ounce) can corn – drained
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Hamburger buns, toasted
Directions
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté ground beef until cooked, while breaking up with a spoon. Drain fat. Then add onion, pepper, garlic, and canola oil. Stirring occasionally until tender, about 8 to 10 minutes. Fold in beans and corn, add tomato sauce, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 20 additional minutes or until desired thickness is reached. Serve on toasted buns.
